Southern Arkansas University
Southern Arkansas University is a quality, comprehensive regional university that offers degrees in the Colleges of Business, Education, Liberal and Performing Arts, and Science and Technology. It holds accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, National Association of Schools of Music, Council on Social Work Education, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education, the National League for Nursing, the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and the Joint Review Committee on Athletic Training Education Programs, and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Philander Smith College
Philander Smith College is a small, privately supported, historically Black, four-year liberal arts institution related to the Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church. The college offers four degrees: the bachelor of arts, the bachelor of science, the bachelor of business administration, and the bachelor of social work.
The college’s emerging mission is to graduate academically accomplished students, grounded as advocates for social justice, intentionally changing the world for the better. Ouachita Baptist University
Ouachita Baptist University is a church-related, liberal arts university whose aims are to meet the educational needs of students and to prepare them for places of leadership and service. Lyon College
Lyon College is an independent, residential, co-educational, undergraduate liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Founded in 1872, it is the oldest independent college in Arkansas. Lyon is a closely knit teaching and learning community distinguished by its honor system, innovative residential house system, and endowed Nichols International Studies program. Lyon is classified as a baccalaureate (liberal arts) college by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and is included in the top tier of the country’s best liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report, which also rates it as a best value on its “Great Schools, Great Prices” list. Lyon emphasizes the development of character as well as intellect. Lyon confers the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, and offers majors in accounting, art, biochemistry, biology, business administration, chemistry, computer science, early childhood/elementary education, economics, English, history, mathematics, music, political science, psychology, religion and philosophy, Spanish, and theater. Students may also design an individualized major. The College also offers pre-professional programs leading to careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, veterinary science, education, law and ministry.
